Jitz studied clarinet in Luxembourg and Strasbourg, then jazz in strasbourg and Liège. He has played in numerous jazz and popular bands since the eighties, e.o. Atmosphere, Ernie Hammes, taboola rasa, Raquel Barreira, Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra, Garlicks, Marly Marques 5tet, and the saxophone quartet Saxifaction. He performed a o. With David Linx, Sal LaRocca, Philip Catherine (B), Pierre-Alain Goualch (F), Helmut Eisel, Tom Gaebel (D), Nils Landgren (Sweden), Ali Ryerson, Steve Shehan, Bob Mintzer, Slide Hampton, Freddy Cole, Jon Faddis, The New York Voices, Nicole Zuraitis (USA), Christine and Ingrid Jensen (Canada), Billy Cobham (Panama) Claudio Roditi (Brazil), and Michel Camilo (Dominican Republic). He was a member of the Euroradio Big Band in residence in Istanbul in 2003.
Since 2009, he has his own 4tet jjQ – Jitz Jeitz 4tet, with Claude Schaus (p), John Schlammes (b) and Mich Mootz (dr). Repertoire: originals and unusual standards. Style: mainstream, modern. During daylight, he metamorphozes into a public servant (now retired) and calls himself Jean-Claude.
